The purpose of these rules is to ensure fair competition, good sportsmanship, and an enjoyable experience for all JVL Darts participants.

PLAYER EXPECTATIONS

All players are expected to:

• Display good sportsmanship at all times.
• Respect opponents, teammates, captains, bartenders, and league officials.
• Follow league rules and procedures.
• Support the host establishment.
• Help promote a positive dart environment.

PLAYER CONDUCT

The following behaviors will not be tolerated:

• Threatening behavior
• Harassment
• Excessive abusive language
• Physical altercations
• Intentional damage to equipment

League officials reserve the right to issue warnings, penalties, suspensions, or removal from league participation when necessary.

TEAM CAPTAINS

Team captains are responsible for:

• Managing team rosters
• Coordinating substitutions
• Communicating scheduling concerns
• Working with opposing captains to resolve match issues
• Serving as the primary contact for league communications

MATCH START TIMES

• Teams should arrive before the scheduled start time.
• Matches may begin with available players if necessary.
• Repeated late arrivals may be subject to league review.

COMPLETING SCHEDULED MATCHES

• Players are expected to remain at the match location until all of their scheduled games have been completed.
• A player may not leave a match early and return later to complete their remaining games.
• If a player leaves before completing their scheduled games, any remaining games involving that player will be recorded as forfeits.
• This rule also applies when a player must leave because of an unforeseen emergency.
• Captains should immediately notify the opposing captain and the League Director when this situation occurs.
• Contact the League Director for additional information or clarification regarding early departures and forfeited games.

SUBSTITUTE PLAYERS

• Substitutes are permitted.
• Captains should notify opponents when using a substitute.
• Substitutes may not create an unfair competitive advantage.
• League officials reserve the right to review substitute eligibility.

FORFEITS & RESCHEDULED MATCHES

• Teams should provide as much notice as possible when a match must be rescheduled.
• Captains are encouraged to work together to find a mutually acceptable make-up date.
• Once a match has started, players are expected to complete all of their scheduled games.
• League officials reserve the right to issue forfeits when warranted.

GENERAL RULES OF PLAY

• Players must throw from behind the established throw line.
• Players may throw up to three darts per turn.
• Any dart thrown counts as a dart thrown.
• Bounce-outs do not count as a score and may not be re-thrown.
• Scoring concerns should be addressed immediately before play continues.

SHOOTER’S ADVANTAGE

If a dart sticks in a scoring segment but fails to register correctly:

• Both captains should review the situation immediately.
• If both captains agree, the score may be corrected.
• If an agreement cannot be reached, the machine score will stand pending league review.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION

• Team captains should attempt to resolve issues first.
• League officials may review disputes when necessary.
• All league rulings are final.
